Dinah Manley

Therapist

Bilingual in English & ASL

I earned my master's degree in Social Work and a bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies/American Sign Language. My professional background spans community mental health, counseling in schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, and rehabilitation for substance use disorders.

I specialize in providing therapeutic services to a diverse client base, particularly focusing on children and youth. With over 20 years of experience in this field, my career began with roles as a preschool teacher and a professional nanny in the greater Sacramento area.

In my practice as a psychotherapist, I am committed to empowering clients and enhancing their self-esteem. Establishing rapport and understanding clients' emotional states is a crucial step in fostering mood and behavioral improvements. I aim to create a therapy space that feels safe and welcoming, a place where vulnerability is both encouraged and carefully managed.

Personally, I am a Northern California native and hard of hearing. I learned sign language during my college years. My volunteer experiences include working at camps for school-age children and teaching sign language to both deaf and hearing students. In my free time, I engage in various outdoor activities such as camping, kayaking, hiking, skiing, biking, and practicing hot yoga. I strongly believe in self-care as a vital practice, essential for nurturing the best version of oneself.
